By the numbers
- Studies show that children not reading by 3rd grade are less likely to graduate high school.
- Over 2,800 children and youth grades pre K-12 in Westchester County have experienced homelessness.
- We distribute over 25,000 books each year.
Program highlights
- Each month all our Community Partners can request as many books as they need for the children they work with.
- Teachers from all over the county come into our Library and pick specific books for each of their students.
- Our volunteer librarians, Miriam Minor and Maxine Marks, look through every page of every book to make sure there are no rips, writing on or missing pages.
